Sound familiar?

Thinking about straightening your teeth?

  • A gap between the front teeth, or spaces that opened up as you got older.
  • Teeth that shifted after braces because the retainer was lost years ago.
  • A bite that wears the edges of the teeth or clicks in the jaw.
  • A teenager who wants straight teeth without metal braces.
  • Gums that bleed when you brush, which no aligner company asked you about.

Aligners move teeth through the bone, so healthy gums and bone come first. That is what a periodontist checks before the scan.

Newport Beach adults and teens drive about 25 minutes to Safari Dentistry and Implants in Huntington Beach for Invisalign planned alongside the gum line. A periodontist checks gum and bone health before the scan, the aligner plan is shown on screen, and whitening or bonding can be scheduled for after the teeth are in position, all in one office with one written fee.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign moves teeth with a series of clear, removable plastic aligners, each worn about 22 hours a day for one to two weeks before switching to the next. The whole series is planned from a digital scan of your teeth, so Newport Beach patients see the projected end result on screen before the first aligner is made. Treatment for mild crowding or spacing usually takes 6 to 12 months; more complex cases take longer.

  1. Consultation and scan. An intraoral scan, photographs, and a gum and bone check by the periodontist.
  2. Digital plan. You review the simulated movement and the finished position, and get the fee in writing.
  3. Aligners. Small tooth-colored attachments are bonded where needed, and you receive the first sets.
  4. Check-ins. A short visit every 6 to 10 weeks; between visits you switch aligners at home.
  5. Retainers. After the last aligner, retainers hold the result. Skipping them is how teeth drift back.

Why Newport Beach patients choose Safari for Invisalign

Newport Beach patients often plan Invisalign as the first step of a wider smile plan: align first, then whiten, then bond or veneer the one or two teeth that still need shape. Doing it in that order means fewer veneers, because straight teeth need less covering. The periodontist evens the gum line where needed. The whole sequence is designed on the scan and priced in writing at the start.

What does Invisalign cost for Newport Beach patients?

The fee depends on how many aligners the plan needs, and it is written down at the consultation with the retainers and check-in visits included. Many PPO plans have an orthodontic benefit that pays part of it, some HMO plans cover a portion for children, and Medi-Cal Dental covers orthodontics only in specific medically necessary cases. Monthly payment plans are available.

What to bring to your first visit from Newport Beach

  • Old retainers or records from previous braces, if you have them.
  • Your insurance card; the front desk checks for an orthodontic benefit before the plan is priced.
  • A sense of your timeline, for a wedding or a move, so the plan can be sequenced around it.
  • Questions about wear time and eating; the answers decide whether aligners suit you.

From the moment I walked in the door, Dr Safari and team welcomed me like family. Everybody was very nice. The office is cute and clean. They addressed all my cares and concerns. I had a very nice experience I highly recommended this place. And they have coffee in the waiting room.

I've have never been to a better dentistry in all my life! Dr Safari truly cares about her patients and I can't thank her enough for the work that she does. I hadn't been to the dentist in over 10 years thinking I can take care of my teeth pretty well on my own (bad, I know!) I had an immediate dental emergency randomly, and Dr Safari was there for me. To say the least, I actually had a lot of work that needed to be done that was avoided all those years, so my emergency was a blessing in disguise. She is so attentive, kind and an expert at what she does. Honestly Dr Safari and all her staff are such positive people. From Bridgett, Ada and to all the dental assistants. Every single staff member makes you feel they're there to help and so welcoming with their smiles. I'm so grateful for what she has done for me and I value her dedication to helping people. Seriously, thank you!

Good to know

Questions patients ask

Can I get Invisalign if I have gum disease?

Not until it is treated and stable. Moving teeth through inflamed, shrinking bone makes the loss worse. The periodontist treats the gums first, then clears you for aligners, all in this office.

Do I have to wear a retainer forever?

Yes, at night. Teeth drift for life, and the retainer is what keeps the result. The fee includes the first set of retainers.

How often do I need to come in from Newport Beach?

Every 6 to 10 weeks for a short check, Monday to Thursday between 10 AM and 4 PM. Aligner changes happen at home, so there are far fewer visits than with braces.

Is Invisalign better than mail-order aligners?

Mail-order aligners are not supervised and do not check gum or bone health. Invisalign here is planned by the dentist on an in-office scan, monitored at check-ins, and adjusted if a tooth does not track.

Can teenagers from Newport Beach get Invisalign?

Yes, once the adult teeth are in. Teen aligners have wear indicators, and the office reviews compliance at each visit.
